Cronicles of a Willibe Millionaire
I did it - Myself! Again!
The site's Status Report informed me that ANOTHER Drupal upgrade is available.
This time, I felt confident.
Well...
I downloaded and unpacked the install files, and started backing up my site.
It wasn't going to be THAT easy though...
The Hetzner console acted up, being VERY slow and refusing to copy folders.
I decided to take my site offline and disable the modules in preparation.
TIP: Copy the modules page to Excel and save immediately (so you know what you had on/off, throttled)
After doing this, and while making an opffline copy, my PC bombed out, rebooting.
Now my site is offline, and I've lost my session.
I dediced to complete the process anyway, hoping for the best.
After running the update.php script, the site asked for the normal settings (DB, settings to be unlocked, then locked).
It then took me into the Site config of the Admin. (SIGH)
Moral of the story: Keep your Cool and stick to the process. Drupal is resilient and you WILL get back in.
'Til next time.
